ASN Variable Burial Depth

We created a technical explainer film for Alcatel Submarine Networks (ASN) as part of their ongoing educational video series. The film presents the concept of Variable Burial Depth – a data-driven approach to optimizing submarine cable protection by adjusting burial depth based on seabed conditions.

Using clear motion graphics and precise visual language, the film illustrates how seabed density affects cable vulnerability and installation effort. By avoiding excessive burial in hard seabeds and ensuring deeper burial in soft areas, ASN’s method improves efficiency, reduces equipment wear, minimizes CO₂ emissions, and enhances cable safety.

Targeted at industry professionals, the animation simplifies complex marine engineering principles and supports ASN’s position as a global leader in sustainable undersea cable solutions.
